MAGGRAY BELGIANS

Nov 07, 2011: I know its been a little while since the last update but here we go. Trade ex in October went fairly well. Morgan won breed every day but 2 of the 4 days. He got a group 3, 4 and a group 2 in the working and herding specialty. We were this close:  [ ] to his Grand Championship title....darn it!

This month was a lot of fun as just this past weekend Morgan and Sammy and cousin of Morgan's named Dylan were all competing at the AIOC trial Nanaimo Kennel Club hosted.

Sammy, who is owned and handled by Sarah Lane, was in Novice B and Morgan still a newby in Novice A and Dylan, also owned by Sarah was entered in Pre-novice. I thought they all did extremely well! I don't know what Sarah's dogs received for scores but they looked very good indeed, great healing dogs both of them.

Morgan's healing was not so good in the first trial, haha very distracted,  but still received above a passing score. In the second trial he did much, much better and mom Kate wasn't so nervous. He got highest qualifying score in class with a 187 1/2. Not bad for his 3rd trial ever. That gives him 2 AIOC legs for CD level yay :) Now on to some CKC trials so we can add some more letters after his name!

Aug 09, 2011:  So its been a while since the last update I know but things have been busy! Lots of news to talk about though.

Morgan has had a fantastic show season this year so far and has made it to the top of the Confirmation ranks and is rated the Number 1 Belgian Shepherd in all of Canada!! in 9 days of the Vancouver island circuit he placed in 8 group showings. He had 3 group 1 placings, 1 group 2, 3 group 3's and 1 group 4. Always nice to have a breeder judge give out a group 1 placing so a special thanks to Bill Walkey. And a big pat on the back to Lisa Wright his handler.

Next week Morgan starts agility classes and we'll try to get some pics of that soon!

Morgan's daughter Airyn has been busy herself this year with Canine Nosework competitions. Airyn's mom is named Holly and this is what she had to say when I asked her what her and Airyn are up to:

"Right now our main focus is on Nosework and agility foundation exercises. Sept. 17 we go to Denver for Odor Recognition Tests (ORT) which are required to compete for Nosework Titles. IF we pass and are lucky enough to have our entry accepted, we will compete in a Nosework 1 Trial (also in Denver) held December 4."

Sounds like very fun stuff Holly! Airyn seems to be a bundle of energy as all Belgians should be and does well at keeping Holly on her toes.

My own dogs did well this past week showing also. Bella got winners female two days and best of winners one day, so she got three points and Usher did the opposite and got winners male Saturday and best of winners male on Sunday so they both got thee points and two point majors.

 Dec. 12, 2010:  Morgan was a representative of his breed today on TSN at the International Dog Show in Abbotsford! I am trying to find a link to the televised event but TSN doesn't seem to have anything up on their site for it so I might be out of luck :(

Nov. 16, 2010: No Group placings at Trade Ex but Morgan did manage to grab 2 BOB. Scarlet showed really well also. There are some new pics up in the photos page from when we had our puppy pack come over to Leslie's place in Cobble Hill. Check them out..too cute :)

Oct. 24, 2010: Morgan passed his herding instinct test today with flying colours! Pics to be up soon. Coming up next weekend is Trade Ex show with a tonne of competition...crossing fingers!

Oct. 17, 2010: Today at Alberni Valley Kennel Club show Morgan receives Group 2 from judge Lynda Saranchuk

Oct.16, 2010:    Morgan now has his Canine Good Neighbor certificate! Thanks Lisa :)

Also not much of a weekend at Cloverdale show this past weekend. Morgan got best of breed one day and Thor got it the other two days but neither could break through in group for a placing.

Here's hoping for this weekend in Port Alberni to be a bit more fun!

Sept. 27, 2010: at Mount Cheam Canine Association this past weekend in Chilliwack, judge John Clark placed Morgan Group 4 on Sunday. Nice job Lisa!

Sept. 09, 2010 : Morgan attended Kamloops & District Kennel Club show  this past long weekend and he and Lisa his handler, did decently well considering the very stiff competition present there. On Friday they got a Group 4 from judge James Reynolds

On Saturday at the Belgian Specialty, Morgan placed Group 3 against many awesome Belgians. A "special" thanks to Yvonne Savard

Later on that day in the regular show entry, Morgan got a Group 4 from Donald Emslie

Another great weekend by the sounds of things guys! Ok whats next?!

Aug. 8, 2010:  The island circuit is now at an end and it was a very successful venture for Maggray Belgians.

Ch. Maggray's Western Wind, "Duke" got his Championship in 4 shows the lucky duck! Congrats to his very proud owners, Dave and Lisa Ray.

Ch. Maggray's Westcoast Woman, "Scarlet" got 4 points in Victoria and now adding to her 8 she already has makes her finished as well.

Morgan managed to have a few group placings. Starting in Campbell River: Group 4, Courtenay: 2 Group 2's from judges Sandy Alexander and Thomas Alexander .

On Friday in Victoria, Morgan won Group 2 from judge Susan Badick and on Sunday, what better way to end the circuit than with a Group 1 win from judge David Eadie

Also, big kudos to Lisa Wright for continuing to bring the best out of Morgan. He would not be who he is without her superb handling. Of course, lets not forget Leslie's awesome grooming! Always takes skill to find hair in summer...Thanks mom :)

July 16, 2010: Friday, Morgan gets another Group 1 win in Calgary out of 68 herding dogs. Big thank you out to judge David Strachan. Fantastic work Lisa! Saturday sees Morgan get a Group 3!

July 6, 2010: After his wins at the the Vernon show this past weekend, Morgan, Ch. Maggray's Mr. Ultra Irresistable - "Morgan" is now ranked #2 Belgian in Canada! Thanks for the outstanding handling work Lisa. Calgary here we come!

June 18-20, 2010: At Nanaimo Kennel Club show, Scarlet wins Best of Breed over Morgan on Friday. Maggray's Western Wind "Duke" gets 3 points in 2 days! Duke is owned by Dave and Lisa Ray.Sammy, Maggray's Ultra Mr Universe finished his CD this weekend. Sammy is owned and Loved by Richard and Sarah Lane. Morgan gets a Group 1st on Sat from judge Michel Chaloux (Thank you!) and Group 2 on Sunday. A great weekend for Maggray Belgians!

June 11 to June 13, 2010: Two Group 2nds for Morgan at the Comox Valley Kennel Club Show.

May 21, 2010:  Puppies are here! 3 females and 4 males. Dam: Sire: Black Ice's Absolut Quantum

May 14-17, 2010: At Tyee Kennel Club show, Morgan gets his first ever Group 1 win from Judge Bruce Owen on Saturday. Thank you! Morgan also gets Group 2nd and 3rd placings as well this weekend.

May 8-11, 2009: Morgan gets a Group 2nd from Belgian expert Skip Stanbridge at Tyee Kennel Club Confirmation show!
